Boredom

Today's the start of my term break.

That means i spend one week of nothing but fun!

But i'm bored....

its just a few hours since that easy "survey" exam in SCIMATP and the gala in MOA.

And i can't find anything productive to do.

Maybe i'll just blog till the end of the week........

and that's what i'll try to do starting today.

I'll also let you in on what's been happening to me. :D

Failure.... something real that I must realize

"when will all of you start to grow up! this isn't High School anymore. you must realize that you really do fail......... and you can't do anything about it" - BASICON Prof.

inspiring words right? We spent the whole period of BASICON this afternoon because of this.

see..... our DEPEX 2 results came out today...... and in quite a shocked, i failed.

yes! this is the first time i failed at something.

I got a 0.0 in the 2nd depex today.

in DLSU, or perhaps in any other college. you get a score below passing.... you get a 0.0

no one cares if you get a 1/100 and you're classmate got a 34/100.

they're both 0.0

someday...... we all have to realize that

and it could be our wake up call

just like mine was today.

this was also the first time I saw people who were more brilliant the me...... fail in this test.

ohh..... and another thing.

"honestly, this is the easiest test we've done in years"

the test was a 70 item multiple choice test.

like the one we always have in the 4th quarter physics exam.

"you guys...... you're CSE. you're supposed to be the most bad-ass "IMBA" students in the CCS...... wow! and only 5 passed"

yes! only 5 out of the 40 students in my block passed....... and they all got lucky.

I'm not trying to point out that i'm a bad-ass but............

we all have to realize one day that it happens.

that we all go to our parents..... and tell them...

"ma! pa! I failed! I failed the exam!"

we all know that its always hard...... we never get used to this.

but we all gotta go through with it.

and yes! even smart people fail!

and then..... our prof gave us a tip!

"I have a question. Did any of you try to be desperate at all?"

and that's when he told us about desperation. a certain feeling that will give you a boost on whatever you do. and we all know what desperate people are capable of doing ryt?

desperate people never force themselves to give up...... they always persevere.

if we try using it....... hell! you can pass exams!

but it doesn't always work.

there so I said it........ i'm just warning you readers about that.

for people who aren't at college yet....... believe me

it will happen. look at me.

Bigger Challenges

Today, I just had my first Departamental Exam in the BASICON subject (Computer Math! remember?). In the next 2 weeks, I'll be experiencing the first toughest days of my college life.

How tough exactly:

Well, here's a list of the events and stuff that will make my next 2 weeks a living hell

- FILKOMU Midterms on Wednesday

- COMPRO1 Departamental Exam on Friday

- COMPRO1 Machine Project (Snakes and Ladders) - haven't started it yet

- SCIMATP Midterms next Thursday

- CCSALGE QUIZ # 2 next Thursday

- FWSPORTS Practical Midterms next Monday

- PERSEF1 Midterms (Oral Exam) (Reporting) on Wednesday

= SABAW! for the next 2 weeks

that's basically my mindset for the next 2 weeks.

And that's only the beginning, i'm not including the sleepless nights that I'll be having.

thanks to the majority of people in my block, declining the idea of crossdressing as our theme in the block picture taking, we changed the theme.

The new theme is hoodies :).

I am not liking this at all.........

Yesterday, during our free time

Our Class President told us that our official block picture taking will be on July 5 (Monday).

Blocks will be able to pick a theme for their attire.

Our Class President and Vice-President wanted something unique for our class picture

so of all the themes they picked........ guess what they chose:
CROSSDRESSING!

That's right! Girls wearing what Boys wear (ok, maybe even cool) and Boys wearing what Girls wear (not so good).

I'm not the only one in the block who ain't satisfied with this decision......

I don't wanna show up in DLSU wearing a dress or a skirt

what's worse is that if they post this up on fb....... every boy in our class (including me) might get embarassed (really now? who wants to see me wearing a skirt!!)

hmmm........ i'm thinking of getting out of this, so i won't get involved.

Math! What Happened to you? (-_-)

So its been 3 weeks since my college life started,

its been interesting so far

besides learning that all of my classmates are avid gamers and techies, the subjects have been really confusing as to their topics, particularly BASICON.

BASICON is the only computer subject I have this term aside from COMPRO1

it means Basic Computer Concepts, I didn't know back then what basicis in computer.

Well, after 3 weeks of staying in DLSU, I have finally learned 2 things:

1. BASICON is Computer Math

2. You Never study Computer and Basic Math together, it'll confuse you.

How confusing?

1 + 1 =2

simple eh? its basic addition, its what we've been learning since our kindergarten days. And that's MATH.

Here's how 1 + 1 is in COMPUTER MATH:

1 + 1 = 2................

1 + 1 = 2 w/ subscript 16

1 + 1 = 10

1 + 1 = 0000 0010

OR

1 + 1 = 0000 0010.0000

1 + 1 = 1

1 + 1 = 3 w/ subscript 8

Sabaw noh! I can't use those in normal math!

But it doesn't stop there..........

To think that they're torturing us with numbers........ they've cruelly added letters and words in the problem......

For Example:

X times(x) O = O

X + 1 = 1

(x + y) (X + z) (y + z) = (x + y) (X + z) (two of the X's are darker than the others)

and the simple

true + true = true

true + false = false

once again. I can't use this on normal math

no wonder i keep saying too much numbers on Plurk (-_-)

and you know what the worst part is..........

I AM LOVING EVERY SINGLE BIT OF IT!!! XD \m/

"The Muhns" Where are they now?

Today marks my 3rd week in college (I think)

My HS life is already finished and I'm starting to get interested in the subjects i'm taking

Also note: me and my group "the muhns" are already separated, though that doesn't mean we aren't friends anymore...... we just can't hang like we used to in HS.

So what happened to "the muhns" where are they now? Here's a quick look at them

Ace Mejia: Ace is currently studying at De La Salle

University taking up Electronics Communications Engineering. If I hear him in DLSU's local radio station. I'll be sure to let you know

Charles Patricio: Charles is also studying at De La Salle University taking up Commerce w/ a Major

in MFI. I met up along with his friends during week 1.

Jolo Balares: yours truly is also studying at De La Salle University taking up ComSci w/ a Major in CSE. I've been doing great so far; new friends, new way of going home and a new romantic interest :> XD.

Lorenzo Escobar: Enzo is taking up Pharmacy at Centro Escoba---... I mean Centro Escolar University. I hear he's been voted as Block President. What a way to start college XD.

Meiji Gallardo: My mae-san Meiji is taking up Food Management w/ a Major in Food Service in O.B. Montessori Center. She's been striving hard to adjust at college. She's been having professors that were teaching her since grade school.

Karl Robosa: Karl is taking up Nursing in University of Sto. Tomas. He's been doing well at school. I just hope that he'll be able to get his girl this time at college.

Alban Batacan: Alban has been silent since March, though he was able to tell me yesterday that he studies at University of the East taking up Physical Therapy i think. I don't know what he's taking up next though. The Next muhn is the only near link I have to him.

Kevin Te: Kevin, the only link I have near Alban, is also taking up Physical Therapy in the University of the East and is planning to start Medicine or Surgery afterwards. He's also my new neighbor here in my village, only living a few blocks away from my house.

So there you have it...... the muhns are inching a few steps closer to what they wanna be when they grow up. Leaving only the bad things behind HS and retaining the good memories they have cherished since they were born (I think XD). The muhns may look separated since they're in different school, but they're just actually leaving for a while....... only to come back to share the experiences they all have in college. (IMBA quote!!! san mo nakuha yan! XD)
